			Jewish Mothers, Jewish Guilt?

What is more dear to one's heart than one's Jewish Mother?  The
Jewish Mother, the Yiddishe mameh, has been immortalized in song and
poetry.  All of us, well at least most of us, blessed with a
Jewish mother, know how lucky we are. We love our Jewish Imma, mama,
mameh, muter, mommy, ma, mom etc. for caring about us more than life
itself, for her love, for her warmth, for putting us first, for
"knowing" that we, her children, are the greatest, the smartest, the
most talented, the most accomplished.  We love are mothers for
believing with whole-heartedly the we deserve the best.  But we
also love to poke fun, even though many of our mothers don't quite
fit the stereotypical Yiddishe mameh so funnily depicted in Jewish
humor.  So why don't we gather round and laugh a little, Jewish
mothers and beloved children.  Let's laugh to our hearts
delight.. and let's "ess eppes" eat something!
			At the Restaurant
What did the waiter ask the group of dining Jewish mothers?
        "Is ANYTHING all right?"
        Changing a Light Bulb
How many Jewish mothers does it take to
        change a light bulb?
(Sigh) Don't bother, I'll sit in the dark,  I don't want to be a
        nuisance to anybody.

			Eat Something!
Did you hear about the bum who walked up
to the Jewish mother on the street and said, "Lady, I haven't eaten
in three days."  To which she replied: "Force
        yourself."

			Phone Call
A man calls his mother in Florida.
        "Mom, how are you?"
"Not too good," says the mother. "I've been very
        weak."
The son says, "Why are you so weak?"
She says, "Because I haven't eaten in 38 days."
The man says, "That's terrible. Why haven't you eaten in 38
        days?"
The mother answers, "Because I didn't want my mouth to be filled
with  food if you should call."
