Cries of "Mazel Tov," congratulations, 
			and good wishes envelope the bride and groom, as they and their attendants 
			make their way from the Chuppah up the aisle, once the 
			wedding ceremony is completed. 
 
			And as happy Jewish wedding music is 
			played, some guests may shower the newlyweds with rice.  Grains signify fertility. 
Eastern European Jews were more likely to be pelted with wheat kernels because wheat kernels were more readily available. Grains are also included in the biblical list of Holy Land produce.  “A land of wheat, barley, grapes, figs and pomegranates.
